Curling Bonspiel

Squamish Easter Seals Camp

Each year, the Pemberton Lions Club joins with the Squamish Lions Club to participate in the annual curling bonspiel. All proceeds from this event go toward the Squamish Easter Seals Camps.  These camps are so important: they provide sleep-over summer camp sessions for children 6 to 18 years of age who have a mental and/or physical disability.  The kids receive the support they need to try a variety of activities.  Also, it gives them the opportunity to grow their confidence, and work on their social skills and independence.

Costs

In the past, the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities has been able to cover the cost of sending kids to the week long camping programs.  Unfortunately, in recent years the Society has been unable to cover the full amount.  They now charge a small amount of the fee directly to parents.  This is where our two Lions Clubs’ work hard to keep that cost down.  The curling bonspiel was born.  Participants pay a fee to participate in the event and there is usually a silent auction of donated items and a raffle.  For 2017, the Pemberton Lions Club extends a heartfelt Thank-you to all our sponsors for donating items:
