Dusting Off

Well it sure has been awhile since we’ve had an update blog post to our webpage so thank- you for your patience. It feels great to be back with updates, as we have had a busy couple of years!

This past year has been wonderful. We helped with the Barn Dance (September) and Winterfest (February), among other activities, and were able to make donations with the proceeds. From the Barn Dance, we donated $2500 to the Pemberton Tails Society. We also had our first annual Dining in the Dark event in February. From that, we were able to give $1500 to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and $2300 to the Lions Guide Dogs Foundation of Canada. We also participated in the annual Squamish Curling Bonspiel, an event to raise money for the Squamish Easter Seal Camp. This camping program provides sleep-over summer camp sessions for children 6 to 18 years of age who have a mental and/or physical disability.

It has been a busy few months for us, but we have been loving every minute of it! We are also very excited about our upcoming events! We are sending a few Lions down to Vancouver for the Annual District Conference at the end of April. In the summer, the Lions Club celebrates 100 years of service! We will also be sending a few Lions to the Annual International Conference in Chicago to help celebrate that achievement. And don’t forget, our big Car Show is happening again this year on Saturday August 26th, 2017.

As always, we will be having a number of little events here and there, just to keep us busy.  Keep your eyes open for the Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday.  Also be sure to check our Facebook Page (@pembylions) for up to the minute information.

Keep smiling! Yours in service,

The Pemby Lions
